Penny Curry is a dedicated educator with over 30 years of experience teaching elementary students across Warren and Fayette Counties in Kentucky. A proud graduate of Western Kentucky University, she holds a Master's Degree in Education and a Rank 1 Certification — a testament to her lifelong commitment to professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Penny's classroom has always been a place where curiosity comes alive. Known for her passion for interactive, hands-on learning, she has made history and social studies leap off the page for countless young learners throughout her career. Her creativity and unwavering dedication to her students have left a lasting impression on every classroom she has called her own.
When the COVID-19 pandemic forced education to take a dramatic turn, Penny refused to let her students lose the magic of experiential learning. She took her commitment on the road — literally — creating on-site video content at historical sites to bring history directly to her students when they couldn't come to it themselves. It was a moment that perfectly captured who she is as an educator: resourceful, passionate, and always putting her students first.
What sets Penny apart is something that simply cannot be taught or replicated — a genuine love for children and an infectious enthusiasm for the subject matter she brings to life every single day. Her students don't just learn history; they experience it, and they do so through the eyes of a teacher who has given thirty years of her heart to the craft.
